Barcelona have reportedly set their sights on Liverpool forward, Darwin Nunez as a potential replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
After having a slow start to the season, Lewandowski has found his form and has played well in the second half of the campaign.
Some in the Blaugrana administration, though, are not entirely sure about his continued success. Especially given that his annual wage will increase to €32 million for the upcoming campaign.
The 35-year-old has stated clearly that he is not looking to leave, but the rumors about his departure continue. And Barcelona have identified a potential replacement for the Pole.
According to SPORT as reported by Barca Universal, Barcelona are considering Nunez to take Lewandowski’s place in the team.
The striker has scored 18 goals this season. But he has also drawn criticism for his inconsistent accuracy in front of goal.
As a result, the Uruguay international gives the impression that he is unhappy at Liverpool. And his social media posts verify this impression as he has removed all of the pictures of him with Liverpool from his Instagram account.
Nunez may request to leave Liverpool in the summer since Jurgen Klopp is also expected to leave. With Barca currently being mentioned as a potential destination for the striker.

The 24-year-old’s price tag may also become a problem. But Liverpool might be willing to sell him for a cut-price, which would benefit Barcelona.
Nunez’s wages, though, is reportedly only a quarter of what Lewandowski would make the following season—a sum that the Catalan club would gladly accept.
