According to SPORT, Barcelona is constantly monitoring the position of Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz, whom club sporting director Deco regards highly.
According to the outlet, Diaz has become a priority target for the club, particularly because Deco sees him as a potential game changer in Barcelona’s assault, despite the fact that his name may not generate as much excitement as other high-profile possibilities.
Deco first expressed an interest in Diaz last summer, especially after Barcelona’s pursuit of Nico Williams fell through.
Getting Diaz away from Liverpool looked impossible at the time, and the transfer is still a huge hurdle today. However, Barcelona still has a short window of opportunity if certain factors align in their favour.

Diaz’s contract with Liverpool expires in 2027, but his camp is dissatisfied with the lack of contract improvements from the club. This has led to Diaz’s representation being handled by a large agency with strong ties to Barcelona, which could provide an avenue for the player to move.
Despite being a regular starter for Liverpool, he is not always utilised as much as he would like, which could be a factor in his departure.
The Colombian has been in superb form this season, gradually increasing his play. With almost 1,500 minutes played, he has already scored 12 goals in 24 games across all competitions.
His form is just getting better, making him an even more appealing choice for Barcelona as they want to bolster their squad.
