Barcelona Latest Gavi Appeal Dismissed By Commercial Court

In the most recent development of the registration controversy involving the young Gavi, the Commercial Court of Barcelona have made a decision and ruled against FC Barcelona’s appeal based on the initial dispute, claiming that the Catalan club’s original appeal was received beyond the specified deadline.

Barcelona filed its own case to ask the court to handle Gavi with the same precautionary measures as of the 31st of January with relation to his new contract.

However, as a result of this Commercial Court decision, Gavi is once again listed on the roster as a subsidiary player and is no longer a first-team member.

Back to his state as he was prior to the 31st of January, he will now be a member of the squad as a Juvenil A player.

As FC Barcelona already exceed the salary limit, they will be required to reduce it in order to register Gavi again as a permanent member of the first team with the Catalan club, as from June 30th, his current subsidiary contract will indefinitely expire and Barcelona would have to resign him should that possibility arise.

It now becomes integral for the Barcelona Board and Financial directors to formulate a plan to either cut wages or find another loophole.
