Barcelona Legend Backs Vinicius To Win Ballon d’Or

Barcelona icon, Rivaldo has reportedly revealed his strong backing for Real Madrid winger, Vinicius Jr to win the Ballon d’Or award.

Rivaldo has expressed his opinions about the players he thinks need to be honored among the top three contenders as excitement mounts for this year’s ceremony, which is set for October 28.

Rivaldo emphasized Vinicius Jr. as the front-runner for the prized award in his evaluation.

Although he admitted that Vinicius did not have a particularly strong Copa America performance, he underlined how important and influential his contributions to Real Madrid have been.

Rivaldo reckons the 24-year-old has demonstrated enough talent and quality at the club level to merit consideration for the prize, even in light of this loss in international play.

“The first one should be Vinicius. Even though he didn’t win the Copa America… because it’s true that he didn’t have a good Copa America. But he did a lot with Real Madrid. He deserves it,” said the Brazil legend as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

“I would also put Rodrigo from Manchester City in there, in his case more for having been a Euro champion. And he has also been winning important titles with City for some time, as well as the Premier League,” he said.

“In third place, I would put Bellingham, who had a fantastic season with Real Madrid. You can always put several stars in there… but my top 3 would be this one,” he concluded.
