Barcelona midfielder, Marc Casado has reportedly been tipped to become the next Carles Puyol for the club.
Over the years, the Catalan club have been fortunate to have seen the emergence of some outstanding talent from their academy.
The Blaugrana are seeing fresh prospects sprout on a regular basis as they return to their roots. Luckily for them, it appears that this was the right decision.
Many of the team’s most outstanding players, including this season, came from La Masia. Among them is Casado, a 21-year-old Spanish midfielder who has been a crucial part of Hansi Flick’s Barcelona team, to the point that they have forgotten how urgently they needed to get a new defensive midfielder.
According to Casado’s former youth coach, his future is deeper than just being a fantastic player. In a recent interview with SPORT as echoed by Barca News Network. Oscar Lopez, who previously trained the Barcelona youth for three years from 2019 to 2021, disclosed even more details about Casado.
For Lopez, Casado was always a bright player who was supported with innate skills.
“Even as a Cadete player, Marc had great game reading, intensity, and tactical intelligence. But I noticed his game lacked a bit of edge.”
“It’s not a quick process; it’s slow and gradual. It took four to five months before significant progress was visible.
“However, his attitude was impeccable, and he implemented my suggestions, enriching his game with more decisive and forward-thinking passes.
