According to a recent SPORT report, Ibrahim Diarra, a young and promising Malian forward, has yet to display his full potential at Barcelona owing to an injury.
It should be recalled that the young player arrived in Barcelona with knee problems, which have kept him from exercising with Barça Atletic since his arrival in November.
Despite this setback, there is much excitement about his potential and what he can contribute to the squad.
A prospective signing
Diarra, who will be 18 on December 12, is noted for his physical power, explosive style of play, and goal-scoring ability. His 18th birthday will also represent a significant milestone, as he will be eligible to sign his first professional contract in Europe.

Barcelona has already showed faith in his abilities by making a significant financial investment to obtain his services. The club reportedly paid €190,000 to CPF Africa Foot, plus an additional €1.5 million, for a total investment of €1.7 million.
Diarra is currently receiving individual training to recover from his injuries. The club expects him to regain full fitness soon, pending the completion of the necessary bureaucratic steps for his debut.
These include obtaining a work permit, which previous international players such as David Oduro and Azziz Issah have had to do in the past. Diarra may also need to briefly return to his home country to speed up the procedure.
Another challenge is the federation card system, as Barça Atlético’s squad is currently limited to 25 players. To formally join, Diarra will need to make adjustments, such as releasing an existing player to make room for him.
Barcelona’s investment in Diarra demonstrates their faith in his ability and potential contributions.
