Barcelona have submitted an offer for 18-year-old right-back Fresneda in hopes of making him their next signing, according to reports from Gerard Romero.
They are offering Valladolid €8m plus variables, with the possibility for Real Valladolid to sign Estanis Pedrola as part of the deal.
Fresneda’s contract with Valladolid has a €20m release clause, but Barcelona’s offer may attract the Spanish team’s management. They have after all already expressed an interest in Estanis Pedrola, and they stand to gain from the proposal.
To discuss the offer from the Blaugrana, Fresneda’s agent is reportedly now discussing with Valladolid.
Barcelona currently have two right-backs in the mix – Sergino Dest and Sergi Roberto. However, none of the two convince Xavi Hernandez enough ahead of the new season.
Sergino Dest’s performances in pre-season are far from convincing while Roberto is not a reliable option.

Real Valladolid teenager Ivan Fresneda, thus, has presented himself as one of the targets for the La Liga champions.
Barcelona have been struggling with big sales for a while now. However, with the club expected to receive €25m from Ousmane Dembele’s move to PSG, the incoming funds will thus go into the signing of a full-back, likely Fresneda.
Many in the Barça administration are reportedly not convinced about the teenager’s ability to play for the club given his lack of experience.
As such, Joao Cancelo remains an option for the La Liga champions. However, there are moves being made to rope in Fresneda.
