FC Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet had to find a new club
The French center defender has been more than the Catalan squad needs for a while, but due to his exorbitant pay, a permanent departure from the club is still difficult to come by.

Barcelona was forced to send him on two season-long loans as a result in the previous two years.
First off, he made 35 appearances while on loan with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League during the 2022–2023 season.
He then signed with Aston Villa for the 2023–24 campaign, making 26 appearances under Unai Emery and assisting his club in earning a spot in the UEFA Champions League.
Although there were rumors that he could be able to find a spot in Flick’s squad, he returned to Barcelona this summer and it didn’t seem probable that he would play for the Blaugranes this year.
As FC Barcelona formally declared on their website that they had struck an agreement with Atletico Madrid for the loan of Clement Lenglet until June 30, 2025, this has in fact proven out to be the case. There won’t be a permanent buy option.

Lenglet’s career is about to take a new turn with this decision.
After joining Barcelona in 2018, the Frenchman has made 160 appearances for the Catalan team, contributing three assists and seven goals.
