Barcelona are reportedly out of the running in their pursuit for Manchester City attacker Bernardo Silva.
Silva has scored 52 goals and contributed 56 assists in 288 games since joining the City from Monaco in the summer of 2017.
Silva’s contract with Pep Guardiola’s side runs until June 2025, but he has been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium.
Barcelona have long admired the Portugal international, and they were hoping to reach an agreement with Manchester City about a possible transfer this summer.
However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Man City’s demands could prevent Barcelona from gaining Silva’s signature.
According to the report, the Citizens are hoping to get a fee between €70m (£61.9m) and €80m (£70.1m).
Due to Barcelona’s current financial situation, they are unable to fulfill Man City’s asking price, making a deal appear unlikely.
Silva is said to desire to join the Catalan giants, and Guardiola will not stand in his way, but the Citizens demand a large sum.
Failure to sign the 28-year-old would be a setback for Barcelona manager Xavi, who has reportedly asked the club to sign Silva since his arrival in November 2021.

The Catalan giants are aiming to improve their midfield in the summer, and Gundogan is a low-cost option.
The 32-year- old’s contract expires in June, and if he does not agree to a new contract with the Premier League champions, Barcelona could take him on a free transfer.
However, Silva could still leave in the summer, according to reports that he is garnering interest from French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
This season, the former Monaco man has started 20 of his 25 Premier League games, scoring four goals and contributing five assists.
