Barcelona Place €80M Price Tag On Man United, Arsenal Target

Barcelona have reportedly set a whooping €80 million price tag on Frenkie De Jong ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Catalan club’s financial challenges have forced them to think about offloading high-earning players, and De Jong is one of them. He may leave during the next transfer window.

De Jong has expressed his delight at Barcelona. But there is always the chance that he could leave, especially given the increasing interest from Premier League clubs—Arsenal being the most prominent among them.

According to Barca Universal, Arsenal have identified De Jong as an instrumental figure in their ongoing rebuilding efforts.

The Gunners’ pursuit of the Barcelona maestro highlights their resolve to add quality and experience to their squad as they look to strengthen their midfield.

While Barca are still undecided about De Jong’s future, Arsenal, Manchester United and other interested parties have a window of opportunity to bid for the 26-year-old because the Blaugrana club are willing to consider offers.

Though, Barcelona are willing to extend De Jong’s contract. But in order to ease the club’s financial burden, they are suggesting that he take a pay cut.

De Jong doesn’t appear willing to consent to the renewal in these circumstances. It makes sense, considering his displeasure with the board’s efforts to get him out of the team during the last few transfer windows.

The player’s unwillingness to sign a new contract, particularly one that would require a pay drop, raises questions about his future at Barcelona and gives Arsenal and other suitors new hope.
