Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain survived spirited comebacks from Borussia Dortmund and Aston Villa, respectively, to advance to the Champions League semi-finals.
Barcelona, who had a 4-0 aggregate advantage, were startled by a Serhou Guirassy hat-trick in the second leg of their quarter-final at Signal Iduna Park, but managed to advance 5-3 overall following a 3-1 defeat.
PSG appeared to be on their way after taking a 2-0 lead at Villa Park after winning the first leg 3-1, but the Premier League side rallied to win 3-2.

Dortmund went all-out attacking in the hopes of pulling off an unexpected comeback, and they deserved to lead by more than Guirassy’s 11th-minute penalty at halftime.
Guirassy ultimately increased the advantage after 49 minutes, but Dortmund’s momentum was interrupted when Ramy Bensebaini scored into his own net. Reported By Heardnews.
Dortmund recovered again, and Guirassy completed his treble 14 minutes from time, but it was insufficient as Barcelona held on to reach the final four for the first time in six years.
Villa too came up short despite a valiant response to goals from Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes in the first 27 minutes.
Youri Tielemans, John McGinn, and Ezri Konsa all scored as Villa came within a goal of pushing the tie to extra time, but PSG just did enough to win 5-4 on aggregate.
