Barcelona midfielder, Frenkie De Jong is reportedly hoping to be fully fit before the Catalan club return for pre-season preparations.
The 27-year-old had his 2024 European Championship hopes dashed as he didn’t recover in time to join the Netherlands in Germany.
After that, Ronald Koeman, the manager of the Oranje, publicly criticized Barcelona for how they had handled his injury and blamed them with pushing him back too soon for the PSG and Real Madrid games.
Now, an update on Frenkie de Jong’s injury status has been provided by Barca Universal.
In order to assist De Jong in healing from the right ankle injury that caused the Dutch international to decide against competing in the European Championship in Germany, Barcelona are collaborating with De Jong’s agent, Ali Dursun.
Barca got in touch with the player to talk about when he should recover after he made the decision to not jeopardize or hurt his national team because he knew he wouldn’t be at full strength.

De Jong is anticipated to return to Barcelona and work with a club physiotherapist to complete his recovery from the ankle injury he sustained in the Liga encounter in April. This would happen just after a few days of vacation in his home country with his wife and baby.
By the time the preseason begins in the second week of July, the aim is for the former Ajax star to be fully recovered or nearly so, so he can begin training with new coach Hansi Flick.
