Barcelona Star On The Verge To Join Real Betis

Barcelona Forward, Vitor Roque is reportedly set to join Real Betis on loan after a bid from Sporting Lisbon was rejected.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Roque is expected to sign a season-long loan agreement with the La Liga side through 2025.

Though a number of other clubs expressed interest in signing the Brazilian, he was inclined to join the Seville-based team and had previously responded positively to them.

Additionally, Betis and Barcelona have reached a deal on a loan that will last until the end of the current campaign after having talks.

The purchase option will not be included in the loan agreement. The two parties are currently debating the last aspects of the deal.

Among the teams keen to bring in Roque were Sporting CP, who were even prepared to secure his services on a long-term basis.

The Portuguese team even made a serious attempt to sign the Brazilian. However, their offer fell short of the Catalan club’s €30 million asking price.

But because Roque was moving more toward Betis and Barca still believed in the young attacker, they made the decision to decline Sporting, according to MARCA.

Since the 20-year-old has the potential to play for the Blaugrana, they want to maintain some degree of control over his destiny.

In order to maintain control over his future and to observe how he adapted to playing in Spain for Manuel Pellegrini’s team this season, they chose to send him on loan to Betis.
