Barcelona defender, Alejandro Balde is set to be out for up to 12 days following the injury he sustained while on international duty for Spain.
The 20-year-old was substituted at half-time in Spain’s 2-0 win over Scotland in the 2024 European Championships qualifying rounds.
The 19-year-old will be returning to the club, the Spanish national team announced after the game. He had experienced some adductor discomfort during the game.
The left-back gave an update on his condition at the airport upon his arrival in Barcelona earlier today, saying that everything was fine with him.
A new report on Balde and his probable time off the field has been provided by AS as reported by Barca Universal.
The good news, according to the publication, is that the Laliga giants left-back’s adductor muscle is not torn. Even so, a 10-to 12-day absence from action is now anticipated for the 19-year-old.
There is now serious uncertainty regarding Balde’s availability for both the UEFA Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk and the La Liga encounter against Athletic Club due to the anticipated 10- to 12-day layoff.
However, it is said that on October 28, when the first El Clasico takes place, Balde will be prepared and available to play Real Madrid.
There will be some comfort that the sensational teenager’s injury is not more serious.
Balde has featured in ten of Barcelona’s eleven games this season in all competitions. He has contributed one assist, which came against Granada last weekend.
