Barcelona reportedly have doubts about their chances of acquiring Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.
President Joan Laporta has recently stated that the Catalan giants would not be active in the upcoming January transfer window.
Despite the recent retirement of Gerard Pique, their predicted income for the second half of the season has been slashed due to their early Champions League elimination.
Nonetheless, Barcelona will almost probably try to add new players next summer, especially if long-serving midfielder Sergio Busquets leaves as a free agent.
Despite appearing on 16 times in 2022-23, the 34-year-old is expected to go to the MLS at the end of the season.
Barcelona has been linked with a number of prospective replacements, including Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Ruben Neves and Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes.
However, Tielemans is reported to have resurfaced on the radar of La Liga’s top clubs, while having less than seven months left on his contract.
However, according to Marca, Barcelona are not optimistic about completing a deal for the Belgium international.
According to the report, the players’ agents are not enthusiastic about a move to Camp Nou at this stage.
This is said to have led to speculation that the 25-year-old is already in talks with another club, with the versatile midfielder having many admirers.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Tielemans, particularly given Mikel Arteta’s desire to bolster in that area of the field.
Although Leicester have just climbed four points clear of the Premier League relegation zone, the Foxes do not plan to keep Tielemans beyond 2022-23.
While club officials may enjoy the option to receive a fee in January, Tielemans is expected to stay at the King Power Stadium until the summer.
