Barcelona are reportedly keeping an eye on Wolves and Mexico striker Raul Jimenez, who could be allowed to leave the club in January.
Since joining the team in 2018, the 31-year-old center forward has been one of Wolves’ most reliable players in recent years. He has scored 56 goals and assisted 23 more in 152 games for the Premier League team.
However, Jimenez is yet to hit his peak form after a serious head injury that saw him spend a long time out on the sidelines. He has featured just six times this season.
Wolves signed Matheus Cunha from Atletico Madrid recently and manager Julen Lopetegui is keen on adding another new forward to his options, which is why he would be open to sanctioning an exit for Jimenez this month.
Another point which could be a factor behind Wolves’ being prepared to part with Jimenez is that he is one of their highest earners and his contract expires in 2024. So, the January window represents a good opportunity for them to make some revenue from his sale.
And, as per the report, Barcelona have been tracking the progress of Jimenez.

The 31-year-old is represented by super-agent Jorge Mendes, who has close ties with Barça president Joan Laporta, which could be a factor in the reported interest from the La Liga leaders.
Barcelona need a new striker to operate as a backup for Robert Lewandowski. Memphis Depay is expected to be on his way out in the near future while Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres’ form has become a major concern.
So, a new striker could arrive at Camp Nou, although any move is unlikely in January due to the club’s Financial Fair Play issues.
