Barcelona are apparently looking for a method to keep Joao Cancelo once his season-long loan expires.
The Portugal international is set to return to parent club Manchester City, but has made it clear that he wants to stay with the Catalans.

According to Sky Sport writer Florian Plettenberg, Barcelona is currently “trying to find a solution” because new manager Hansi Flick wants to keep the Portugal international.
Barcelona will now have to speak to Manchester City and hope they can agree another temporary deal for the 30-year-old.
There has been speculation that City want to offload Cancelo permanently, something Barcelona simply won’t be able to afford right now.
Cancelo played regularly for Barcelona last season, on both sides of the defence, and is now set to feature for Portugal at Euro 2024.
With Flick having made clear to the Camp Nou brass that he envisions a place for the full-back in his XI, though, the Blaugrana have begun work ‘to find a solution’.
The first-choice option would be to extend Cancelo’s loan for a further 12 months, albeit with it remaining to be seen how open parent club Manchester City would be to such a prospect.
Fresh talks between the clubs have been pencilled in, with a further update on the situation expected over the next couple of weeks.
