Barcelona Unwilling To Meet €180M Valuation Of Premier League Star

Before the 2025–2026 season begins, Barcelona aim to improve their center-forward position.

No matter what happens to Robert Lewandowski, the Catalan club are committed to investing heavily in strengthening their forward line.

According to SPORT as reported by Barca Universal, in order to strengthen the No. 9 position, Barcelona are considering Newcastle United striker, Alexander Isak.

The Sweden international, 24, joined the Premier League side in the summer of 2022 for a €70 million transfer fee after having stints at Real Sociedad and Borussia Dortmund.

Isak’s age, potential, and steady display have impressed Barcelona, who have been keeping a careful eye on his development.

However, the Magpies’ asking price is a significant obstacle to the Blaugrana’s interest in acquiring the player, especially given their financial challenges.

As per the report, Newcastle value their talisman at around £150 million, which at today’s rate translates to €180 million – a valuation which is deemed unfeasible by the Blaugrana.

Isak signed a six-year contract with Newcastle in the summer of 2022, meaning he is tied to the club until June 30, 2028.

The English club have no intention of selling him at a cut price, although Premier League clubs such as Arsenal and Liverpool are also keeping an eye on the situation.

As such, Barcelona would have to break the bank if they do have the intention to go after Isak’s signing come summer of 2025.
