Barcelona Yet To Register Olmo With La Liga Only Few Days Away

As soon as Barcelona revealed that Dani Olmo had signed a six-year contract, there was a great degree of excitement in the club.

The Catalan club’s supporters, however, are reeling from despair as the team strive to register the former RB Leipzig attacker for the upcoming campaign.

The financial woes of Barcelona and their exorbitant wage bill are well known. The team might be unable to register their big signing because of this exact issue.

According to Cadena SER as reported by Barca Universal, as things stand, the Laliga giants are unable to register Olmo. Even worse, if they don’t let go of a few important players, the team would not even be able to register the Spaniard.

This is because, despite striking a new deal with Aramark, Barca have not yet returned to the 1:1 rule.

According to reports, the Blaugrana outfit need an extra €60 million to get back to the 1:1 rule, which allows them to spend every euro they make.

In this case, Barcelona might need to produce a sum of money equivalent to about €50 million from sales or through another economic lever in order to register Olmo.

It should be mentioned that Barcelona and Nike are negotiating a new contract that might significantly increase the club’s revenue.

Given that the transfer market closes in three weeks, the Catalans will be eager to announce the agreement as soon as possible.
