Bayer Leverkusen In Advanced Talks Over Granit Xhaka Transfer From Arsenal In £13m Summer Deal

Granit Xhaka is close to joining Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window, according to football.london, with talks for a £13 million deal progressing.

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka is in advanced talks to join Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window, according to football.london.

The major club connected with signing Xhaka was Bayer Leverkusen, with manager Xabi Alonso particularly interested.

Mikel Arteta will almost certainly be given finances to bolster his squad this summer. Arsenal are eager to mount a stronger challenge next season after their form deteriorated in the last months of the season.

Xhaka, who has been linked with a summer exit, has warned club officials that they cannot dwell on a successful season and must keep pushing forward. He has pushed his coworkers to be “prepared for anything.”

“We’ve had a great season,” the Switzerland international added, “but we have to keep going.” We need to take another step forward since next season will be considerably more challenging.

Xhaka has scored seven goals and grabbed seven assists from 45 appearances in all competitions this season. Remaining at Emirates Stadium beyond the summer would have seen Xhaka enter the final 12 months of his contract, with the club also holding an option to extend that by another 12 months

Xhaka, on the other hand, told Arsenal’s detractors not to forget the rest of the season, when the Gunners appeared to be on their way to a surprise victory. The 30-year-old admits he has regrets about how the season finished, but believes Arsenal ‘deserved’ to finish second.

“People should not forget how hard we worked for 11 months,” Xhaka added. Even though we lost the final two, you can’t forget the 11 months we put in.
