Bayern Identify Tottenham Outcast Ahead January Transfer

Tottenham Hotspur defender, Eric Dier is reportedly a transfer target for Bayern Munich ahead of the January transfer window.

Dier is in a difficult situation at Tottenham since Ange Postecoglou, the new manager, does not have him in his plans.

The 29-year-old hasn’t played in a competition this season because Postecoglou prefers Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven as his center-back duo.

The Englishman could find himself in the starting lineup if Romero or Van De Ven sustain injuries because Spurs still lack depth in their central defensive options.

Nevertheless, Dier will probably push for a winter transfer out of North London since he wants to establish himself as a consistent starter somewhere else on the basis of ability rather than luck.

For Spurs, a January departure would also make sense. This is their final opportunity to get any money for Dier because his contract expires at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

What Has The Media Reported About Dier?

In recent weeks, Dier has been linked to a number of teams, including Sporting, where he began his career, and Roma, under his former gaffer, Jose Mourinho.

According to Fussball Transfers as reported by TeamTalk, Dier might instead be able to pull off an incredible transfer to the defending Bundesliga champions, Bayern.

Thomas Tuchel is said to be desperately in need of a new center-half. The club’s executives have compiled a shortlist of two players, Dier and Milan’s Pierre Kalulu.

According to the source, Tuchel is still pressing Bayern to sign Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea, as he was one of his top summer targets.

Bayern are currently experiencing defensive crisis, with Dayot Upamecano, Matthijs de Ligt, and 18-year-old Tarek Buchmann currently out injured. This means summer signing Kim Min-jae is the only recognised first-team central defender at the club.
