Ruben Amorim, the head coach of Manchester United, is eager to sign Konrad Laimer, a midfielder for Bayern Munich, at Old Trafford during the summer transfer window.
Laimer joined Allianz Arena from RB Leipzig in July 2023 and has since made 59 appearances for the Munich powerhouses, recording one goal and four assists.

Although he is considered a center midfielder, the Austrian international has been a key member of Bayern this season, recording 16 appearances across all competitions. In 2024–25, he has mostly been utilized at right-back.
Recently, there has been speculation around Laimer’s future. The Austrian is rumored to be leaving Bayern, and Sky Deutschland claims that Man United is interested in him.
The versatile talent, who can play as a right-back, defensive midfielder, and central midfielder, is reportedly a major admirer of Amorim. This would provide Man United with important backup in three crucial areas.
After advancing through Red Bull Salzburg’s development system, Laimer played 77 games in all competitions for the Austrian team before moving to Leipzig, where he played an additional 190 games, reports sports mole.
The Austrian won two German Cups at Leipzig and three league championships and three cups while he was at Salzburg, but he hasn’t won anything with Bayern because the Munich team didn’t perform well the previous season.
Although Laimer’s contract is set to expire in June 2027, Bayern is rumored to be willing to let him go the next summer provided their valuation is satisfied.
