As the end of the 2024-25 season approaches, FC Barcelona, like other European clubs, is making moves to enhance their team for the following season.
This summer, some changes are expected to be made to the Blaugrana team’s defence. Ronald Araujo, one of the club’s key players, is rumored to be leaving.
Meanwhile, Barcelona is likely to make a fresh addition to their backline, with Deco allegedly interested in signing German defender Jonathan Tah, who has already confirmed his departure from Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season, to Hansi Flick’s club.
Despite the two parties’ desire to reach a deal, the Catalan club’s FFP problems have prevented them from doing so. In such circumstances, another major European team may attempt to hinder the Blaugranes’ move.
Bayern Munich remain interested in the German defender
According to a report by CF Insider, Bayern Munich is still keeping a close eye on Jonathan Tah, and they can step up their efforts to sign him now that one of their key defenders, Eric Dier, has decided not to renew his contract and will join French club AS Monaco this summer.

The Bavarians wanted to keep the Englishman in their team and even offered him a new contract, but Dier has decided to play in France next season.
Although he was not one of Vincent Kompany’s first choices for the center of the defence, he was still a vital player in this position, owing to the frequent injuries experienced by other centre-backs in the Bayern squad.
As a result, the Bavarians will make replacing him a top priority during the forthcoming summer transfer window. If they can get Jonathan Tah to join them, it will be at the price of Barcelona. Meanwhile, they are interested in the Blaugrana captain, Ronald Araujo.
