Bayern Munich has announced the signing of Ajax defender Noussair Mazraoui on a free transfer from Ajax on Tuesday, becoming the club’s first offseason addition.
The 24-year-old has agreed to a four-year contract with the club and will join when his contract at Johan Cruyff ArenA expires at the end of next month.
After graduating from Ajax’s junior program, the Netherlands-born defender made over 100 appearances for the club, earning three Eredivisie titles and two Dutch Cups.

“Right from the first negotiations with FC Bayern, I had a positive feeling and I’m delighted about joining one of Europe’s top teams,” Mazraoui said of his move to the German champions.

“We’re thrilled to make Noussair Mazraoui our first new signing of the summer,” Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic stated.
“He received offers from all around Europe, but he chose us because we have a clear plan with him and want to accomplish great things together.”
“Noussair is a player who frequently pushes forward down the right side. We also admire his mentality; he’s pumped up for the challenge of playing for FC Bayern.”
Mazraoui’s Professional Journey
Mazraoui joined Ajax’s academy when he was eight years old and progressed to the senior team in 2018.
He scored 10 goals in 137 senior appearances for the Dutch giants, but his exit was inevitable after the defender made it plain he would not sign a new deal, with Bayern Munich apparently beating Barcelona to his signature.
Mazraoui, who was born in the Netherlands but has Moroccan nationality, made his national team debut in 2018 and has since earned 12 international caps.
