Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich have temporarily suspended forward Sadio Mane for hitting fellow team-mate, Leroy Sane in the face.
The attacker was accused of punching Leroy Sane in the face during a heated altercation in the dressing room. This happened after their 3-0 defeat against Manchester City in the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League.
Due to the club’s heavy loss in the first leg at the Etihad, they are now in danger of losing in the quarterfinals.
As reported by Sky Sports, Mane allegedly punched Sane in the face after an incident between the two.
According to reports, the 31-year-old became enraged with the forward’s manner of speaking to him, which resulted in a fight that Bayern teammates had to break up.
Sane’s lip is said to have been split open as a result of the punch. And the other players on the team had to separate the two players and lead them into separate rooms.
Mane will be punished and will not be available for selection for Saturday’s Bundesliga match against Hoffenheim, according to a club statement from Bayern.
“Sadio Mane, 31, will not be in the FC Bayern squad for the home game against 1899 Hoffenheim next Saturday,” a Bayern statement reads.
“The reason is Mane’s misconduct after FC Bayern’s Champions League game at Manchester City. In addition, Mane will receive a fine.”

Sadio Mane joined Bayern Munich from Liverpool in last summer’s transfer window for a reported fee of £35million. He has had a roller-coaster season ever since he moved, scoring just 6 goals in 19 Bundesliga games. Though, a knee injury he sustained prior to the FIFA World Cup can be said to impede his progress in Germany.
