Bayern offered Sane hope as City eye replacement

Bayern Munich’s chances of landing top target Leroy Sane have been boosted by the news Manchester City are lining up his replacement. Bayern pulled out all the stops to try and sign Sane during the last transfer window, but for one reason or another they failed to complete the deal and he remained with the English Premier League champions.
The Germany international then picked up an injury, which was the final nail in the coffin for Bayern, but their chances of doing a deal looked slim before then as City drove a hard bargain.
However they could now be more open to doing a deal following reports they are targeting a move for Spain Under-21 international Mikel Oyarzabal.
The 20-year-old has caught the eye for Real Sociedad scoring 28 goals over the past two seasons and City could now be ready to launch a bid to get him on board.
Sociedad are keen to keep hold of the player, who is under contract until 2024, but they will be powerless to do so if the English club match the £67million release clause that is in his contract.
City will use any money raised from the sale of Sane to fund a deal for Oyarzabal, and they would also be left with a large chunk of cash to spend elsewhere.
Even if City agree to sell and Sane pushes for a move to Bayern, the transfer fee involved could still be an issue.
The valuation was set at £100million last summer and Bayern refused to match it. It is unlikely to come down so Bayern would have to break the bank to land him.
They would also have make a choice over Sane and current loan star Philippe Coutinho, as signing both would be out of the equation.
