Bayern Plan Raid On Newcastle For Star Defender

Bayern Munich are reportedly considering a move for Newcastle United defender, Kieran Trippier in the ongoing January transfer window.

The fact that Newcastle haven’t been able to add to their roster this month due to financial constraints has frustrated manager Eddie Howe.

The Magpies are hesitant to violate the Premier League’s financial regulations and are having difficulties putting together short-term loan agreements during the current window.

The Newcastle boss is now facing the possibility of losing one of his key players this month.

According to InsideFutbol, Trippier may be snapped up by Bayern during the winter transfer window.

Before the transfer window closes, Thomas Tuchel wants to add a right-back, and the Toon star has become a top target.

Along with Harry Kane and Eric Dier, the German champions are thinking of bringing him in to add to their English contingent.

Kane is still close friends with his former Spurs teammate, so it’s likely that he will support the team’s efforts.

If Trippier is permitted to depart, Newcastle have Tino Livramento in their lineup as a ready-made replacement.

However, it is unclear if Howe is willing to lose a player of that caliber in the middle of the campaign.

Trippier has been a focal point ever since he signed for Newcastle in the 2022 January window. This season, the 33-year-old has featured in 28 games, providing 8 assists for his teammates.

The Magpies are currently 10th on the Premier League log, so losing a player like Trippier in the middle of the season will further dent their league campaign.
