On loan Chelsea defender, Ian Maatsen is reportedly on the radar of Bayern Munich, who are willing to splash the cash on new signings ahead of next season.
According to Sky Germany as cited by Sport Witness, the 22-year-old is on the summer list of the Bundesliga giants.
Maatsen is one of the possibilities Bayern have in mind to replace Alphonso Davies. It is made apparent that at this point, ‘nothing concrete or hot’ exists.
The Chelsea player was just loaned to Borussia Dortmund, where he will remain until the end of the current campaign. He has made 12 appearances there so far, scoring one goal and dishing out two assists.
It seems Bayern were drawn to him because of his football appearances in Germany. While observing a few left-backs, they are also thinking about players like Miguel Gutiérrez and Theo Hernandez.
Maatsen has a £35 million release clause at Chelsea, as Sky notes. So it’s unclear if Bayern would match that amount or try to work out a lower deal if he keeps up his impressive play in the Bundesliga.

Transfermarkt values him at €20 million, which could persuade Bayern to make a significant investment.
It’s quite the turn around to be wanted by Bayern Munich after being surplus to requirements at Chelsea.
