Bayern Munich are reportedly ready to push harder and beat Barcelona to the signing of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, Xavi Simons in the summer transfer window.
Simons, 21, is a key target for Barcelona as they are willing to add more depth to their squad and challenge Real Madrid in the upcoming Laliga season.
The former La Masia starlet is currently being pursued by a number of elite clubs throughout Europe after having a fantastic season on loan at RB Leipzig. Barcelona have emerged as possible suitors, and the player is eager to make the move to Camp Nou.
But it looks Bayern have entered the competition to sign Simons in the upcoming summer, which is a major setback for the Catalan club.
The young attacker is scheduled to return to PSG this summer. And according to Fabrizio Romano the Bavarians are interested in signing the 21-year-old Dutch talent.
The possibility of a loan agreement has been raised, even though PSG have no intention of selling their star player. For their part, Bayern are amenable to a loan agreement for Simons.
Bayern are not the only club pursuing the Dutchman. RB Leipzig are also eager to keep him on for another season.

An announcement that a decision might be made prior to the European Championship was made earlier. However, Romano has stated that a decision may be made in few weeks time.
Simons will play alongside Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong in the Dutch team. But the midfielder has a short window of time to recover from an injury before the opening match on June 16.
