David Beckham has hailed Jose Mourinho’s appointment as new Manchester United boss, saying he ‘can’t wait’ to see the Special One in the Old Trafford dugout.
The former Chelsea boss has succeeded Louis van Gaal at the Theatre of Dreams and Beckham says he hopes to be at his first game in charge.
Speaking at the JW3 Jewish community centre in north London, Beckham said: “I think it is perfect.”
He added: “Bring Jose in, I loved him as a manager, bring him back to the Premier League needed to happen.
“It’s no the same without him. I can’t wait to see him. I only hope I can go to the first game.”
Mourinho’s first competitive game as United boss will be revealed tomorrow when the Premier League fixtures are announced.
He will first face Leicester in the Community Shield at Wembley.
