Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin is set to miss the Gunners’ upcoming fixtures against Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
The 21-year-old, who has been one of Arsene Wenger’s best performers so far this season, was forced to withdraw from Spain’s under-21 squad earlier this week after sustaining an injury in training.
The Spaniard damaged his ankle ligaments in a training session on Tuesday, which could now see him spend up to a month on the sidelines.
The Arsenal man had originally injured the affected area in the previous international break, hurting himself during Spain’s Euro 2017 qualifier against San Marino.
After managing the knock over October, Bellerin was given a rest for Arsenal’s Champions League trip to Bulgaria to play Ludogorets, but the latest aggravation of the problem will see him spend at least three weeks out.
Arsenal play Manchester United in the first game following the international break, with a Champions League group decider against Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain a few days later.
