Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic was delighted to claim the Krelim Cup crown on Sunday by seeing off Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. Bencic overcame the home hopeful 3-6 6-1 6-1 in Moscow to pick up the trophy. The 22-year-old had qualified for the WTA Tour Finals earlier in the week and Bencic says taking the trophy was an added bonus after reaching the season-ending showpiece for the first time in her career. “I had no pressure going into this match,” she said, as reported by Tennis365. “We were so happy yesterday, celebrating, and this is the cherry on top.” The WTA Tour Finals takes place in Shenzhen, China, from October 27 to November 3 as the top eight players face off. Bencic will come up against Ashleigh Barty, Karolina Pliskova, Naomi Osaka, Simona Halep, Bianca Andreescu, Petra Kvitova and Elina Svitolina in the season finale.
