Bottas not giving up on title

Valtteri Bottas says he will not give up the F1 title despite being 64 points behind team-mate Lewis Hamilton with just four races left. Hamilton will seal his sixth world title if he outscores Bottas by 15 points at the Mexican Grand Prix – the circuit where he has won his last two titles. The Finn won the Japanese Grand Prix last week which was his third race win of the season after victories in Australia and Azerbaijan this year. It would be some comeback if Bottas were able to overhaul his team-mate to win his maiden title but it looks likely he will finish second as he is currently 53 points clear of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in third. The 30-year-old is in a defiant mood ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix next week and says he will fight until any mathematical chance is extinguished. “I don’t really give up on anything as long as there’s a theoretical chance so there’s no point in that,” he said. “Everything’s possible although I’m realistic as well that I will need to be very lucky, that’s a fact, to win all the rest of the races but I don’t really think about that much at this point.”
