Bournemouth 0-0 Norwich

Bournemouth and Norwich could not be separated as the football matched the conditions on a dull day on the south coast. It was billed as a game that could offer plenty of goals with both sides failing to keep a clean sheet in their opening eight games.
Norwich had lost all four of their away games ahead of Saturday’s trip to the Vitality Stadium and Daniel Farke understandably set his side up not to lose.
The Canaries were happy to sit back and soak up pressure, something which frustrated Bournemouth and prevented them from playing their favoured swashbuckling style of football.
Bournemouth lacked urgency for the majority of the first half but did carve out the only opportunity.
Sergio Rico’s cross found Callum Wilson on the edge of the box and the England international rolled in Dominic Solanke, but he was denied by Tim Krul.
The second half started in a similar fashion to the first with a lack of action at both ends of the field.
The first moment of note came on the 50-minute mark when centre-back Ben Godfrey pulled up with an injury, adding to Norwich’s casualty list in the heart of defence.
He had to leave the field and a lack of defensive options meant midfielder Alex Tettey had to fill in for the remainder of the game.
Despite the makeshift backline, Bournemouth were unable to put the Canaries to the sword and only created one further chance.
Rico’s cross was met by Wilson at the near post and his flick went agonisingly wide of the far post as Krul struggled to get across.
Norwich’s only real chance fell to Teemu Pukki in the latter stages although his low, drilled shot was turned wide by Aaron Ramsdale.
On a positive note, Onel Hernandez made his return to action from the bench after suffering an injury on the opening day against Liverpool.
