Brady thrilled to be back

Burnley winger Robbie Brady admits it was great to be back playing despite their 2-1 loss to Leicester City on Saturday afternoon. The Clarets were controversially denied an equaliser by VAR late on in the game, as Sean Dyche’s men were consigned to their first away defeat of the season.
Burnley took the lead when Chris Wood headed home in the first-half before Jamie Vardy equalised moments before the break.
Youri Tielemans scored what proved to be the winner 15 minutes before full-time before the moment of controversy.
Wood was denied a second goal after VAR adjudged him to have pushed Foxes defender Jonny Evans in the build-up, meaning Burnley were unable to preserve their unbeaten away record.
Irish international Brady was starting his first game of the season after being hampered by a rib injury.
He came off the bench in the 2-0 win against Norwich and 2-2 draw with Aston Villa in September and was unleashed from the off on Saturday following an injury to Johann Berg Gudmundsson while on international duty with Iceland.
Despite feeling low after the defeat, the 27-year-old Brady says he was delighted to get some playing time under his belt and feels his team performed well against Brendan Rodgers’ side, who are third in the Premier League table. “I was over the moon to be back in the starting XI. It’s been a bit disappointing with the freak injury I got in pre-season, which wasn’t ideal,” he said. “Just getting back to the level where I feel I’m at now has been good. I enjoyed being back out there and as a team, I think we did well.”
Brady has suffered numerous injury problems since joining Burnley from Norwich in January 2017 for a fee of around £13million.
After featuring in 14 games during his first half-season, he played just 15 times in the 2017-18 season due to a knee issue and then hamstring troubles meant he only played 16 games last season.
