BREAKING: Eden Hazard Retires From Belgium International Duty

Belgium captain, Eden Hazard has just announced his retirement from international duty.

The Belgium forward made the decision after his nation’s disappointing exit from the World Cup at the group stage.

What started out well with a win quickly derailed with fights reportedly occuring in the Belgium camp during the World Cup amongst high-profile players.

Belgium were widely expected to qualify from their World Cup group that included Croatia, Canada and Morocco.

However, Belgium finished third in Group F, beating Canada in their opening game before losing to Morocco and then drawing with Croatia. Hazard, 31, played in all three games but did not score for his country.

‘A page turns today… thank you for your love,’ Eden Hazard wrote on Instagram.

‘Thank you for your unparalleled support. Thank you for all this happiness shared since 2008.

The Real Madrid forward follows coach Roberto Martinez in walking away from the Red Devils.

Roberto Martínez announced his departure as Belgium’s head coach after their group-stage exit at the World Cup.
Hazard will now turn his attention to his already ailing club career, with Real Madrid reportedly set to offload the former Chelsea star in the summer.
