Bruno Fernandes praised Manchester United’s “amazing comeback” in Saturday’s Manchester derby with Manchester City.
Erik ten Hag’s side fell behind in the 60th minute to Jack Grealish’s header, but Fernandes equalised in the 78th minute before Marcus Rashford scored four minutes later.
The Red Devils have now won their last nine games in all competitions, including five in the Premier League, putting them in fourth place in the table, one point behind second-placed Man City.
Man United “look like a team now,” according to Fernandes, who has captained the team on many occasions this season due to Harry Maguire losing his starting spot.
“It’s obviously important to win the game,” Fernandes told BT Sport after the game. “The manager said before the game, it doesn’t matter about the opening, the most important thing is winning it.
“It was an amazing comeback and great effort from the team.

“I said it before the game to the team: ‘We look like a team now.’ Some time ago, you could see sometimes [we were a team], sometimes each one of us was looking for ourselves.
Now you see a proper team that works hard for each other and you see that it pays [off].”We have to look forward. We have to look forward for the next game because you can be closer, but if you don’t keep winning, it will go. So, the mentality now has to be celebrating because it’s a big win, it’s a long day today, so we have to celebrate that.
Fernandes also addressed the controversy surrounding his goal, with Rashford in an offside position but not interfering with play in the eyes of the officials.
