Bruno Fernandes has praised the impact Christian Eriksen has had at Manchester United after joining on a free transfer from Brentford.
Eriksen, 30, was signed by United when the Bees’ short-term contract with him ended.
At the time, the Denmark international was viewed as a questionable addition as he is best known for playing in attacking midfield. This was coincidentally the same position Fernandes occupied at Old Trafford.
Eriksen, however, has been placed in central midfield by manager Erik ten Hag, completely filling a huge void in United’s lineup.
The Red Devils have lacked quality in that area in recent years, but that no longer seems to a problem thanks to Eriksen’s clever reading of the game.
Eriksen’s rapid ball movement enables Fernandes to gain control of the ball in risky situations quicker.
When United defeated Arsenal 3-1, this was made evident. The ball moved quickly from Eriksen to Fernandes to Marcus Rashford for his first goal.
What Did Fernandes Say About His New Manchester United Teammate?
“It’s really good to play with Christian,” Fernandes told United’s website.
“He is a player who can find passes, that can find pockets and obviously make my game easier because he can find me when I move in between the lines. It’s something that is not easy to do.
