Bruno Fernandes has contacted his former Manchester United teammate Paul Pogba as he looks for a new club. After Juventus terminated his contract last year, the French midfielder became a free agent and fulfilled his doping ban.
The 31-year-old was first suspended for four years by the Italian Anti-Doping National Tribunal after testing positive for non-endogenous testosterone. However, that was ultimately lowered to 18 months, allowing him to resume training in January 2025 and begin playing in March. Despite links to Saudi clubs, the 2018 World Cup winner is still a free agent.

He resorted to Instagram to express his wish to return to professional football. Pogba shared a photo of himself at an athletics track with his 62.8 million followers, showing off his strong figure.
Fernandes, who spent two years at Old Trafford with Pogba before the Frenchman returned to Turin, responded to the tweet. He wrote “Beast mode activated” and included the ‘on fire’ emoji to show his support.
Pogba remains United’s record acquisition, having come from Juventus for £89 million in the summer of 2016. He was instrumental in Jose Mourinho’s first season as manager, scoring in the Europa League final against Ajax.
However, his final three years with the club were plagued by injury issues, and after 2019, he failed to play 30 games in a Premier League season. Despite his eventual low-key departure, speculation has mounted this year that he could return to the club on a short-term basis.
