Bruno Guimaraes Enjoys Almiron Winning The Newcastle POTM

Bruno Guimaraes loved the news that Miguel Almiron was voted Newcastle’s player of the month award for October.

Taking to his Instagram, the Paraguay international posted about how proud he is of winning the award and how it’s important for the team to maintain their electric form up until the World Cup signals for the international break.

In the comments, Guimaraes shared his reaction to the news, clearly happy to see his South American compatriot getting the recognition he deserves.

What Did Guimaraes Say?

The Brazilian posted two heart emjois to illustrate his pleasure in his teammate’s triumph, after an emphatic month for the Magpies now sees the side all the way up in fourth place in the Premier League table.

Whilst it would be unfair to suggest Newcastle’s success this season has come as a result of a few key players, the impact made by the likes of Guimaraes and Almiron has proven instrumental in getting the side ticking over at St James’ Park this term.

Having scored a total of 21 goals in 136 appearances for the Magpies, the Paraguayan’s drastic improvement has been clear to see in recent weeks, after bagging six goals in the Toon’s last six league games.

During this same period, the defensive midfielder contributed two goals and two assists, having played an equally important part in the side’s result at securing five wins in their last six matches.

Whilst the Brazilian hit the ground running upon his arrival at St James’ Park, Almiron has had a tricky road to success. In the Premier League last season, the right winger started just 19 games all season.

In contrast, he has featured in Eddie Howe’s starting XI in every possible top-flight fixture thus far this term.

The pair are clearly doing something right in a Black and White shirt, given their cult hero-like status on Tyneside, for which they proven undroppable in recent months.

As a result, fans will be hoping the duo can remain injury free for the remainder of the season, as Newcastle look to fight for Champions League qualification.
