During Arsenal’s spectacular Champions League quarter-final victory, Bukayo Saka got into a furious fight with Real Madrid’s injured player Dani Carvajal.
The incident occurred as the players were heading for the tunnel at halftime. Saka, who had before seen Thibaut Courtois save his Panenka penalty, was met by Carvajal, who has been sidelined since October with an ACL injury.
While it’s unclear what triggered Real Madrid great Carvajal’s actions or what he said, conjecture believes he was referring to Saka’s missed penalty effort in the first half.
Saka’s audacious Panenka was comfortably stopped by Courtois after referee Francois Letexier ruled that Raul Asencio of Real Madrid fouled Mikel Merino in the area during a corner, according to the Mirror.
Matthew Upson, a BBC Radio Five Live commentator and former Arsenal player, was taken aback by Saka’s penalty decision. He stated, “I just can’t believe Bukayo Saka chose this sentence.
“I am completely startled. It’s a terrible penalty. He chipped it to the side where Thibaut Courtois dives.”

TNT Sports pundit Ally McCoist couldn’t hide his surprise at the penalty save. He replied, “I can’t believe it. The goalkeeper does unbelievable.
“This isn’t a wonderful pen. He offers the goalie the opportunity to elevate his left hand, which is strong.”
Despite the early setback, Saka had the Emirates fans ecstatic when he broke the tie in the 65th minute, demonstrating his clinical edge with a wonderful goal from a Merino pass.
Vinicius Jr of Real Madrid responded quickly, capitalizing on a rare gaffe by William Saliba to score past Arsenal. However, Arsenal’s backline stood firm, putting an end to Madrid’s hopes of recovering from their 3-0 first-leg defeat.
