Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, 23, will be out for another eight weeks due to a hamstring injury sustained during a 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace on December 21. This adds to the Gunners’ injury woes after failing to sign a forward in the January transfer window. Two other Arsenal forwards have also been sidelined for the rest of the season.
Gabriel Jesus suffered an ACL injury last month, which will likely sideline him for the majority of 2025. Following a mid-season warm-weather training camp to Dubai, top scorer Kai Havertz was also confirmed to miss the rest of the season due to hamstring surgery.
Gabriel Martinelli is also set to be sidelined for around a month after being injured against Newcastle. According to The Mirror, Saka return could be delayed until mid-April, which is longer than expected.
This leaves Mikel Arteta without four forwards, with only Leandro Trossard, Raheem Sterling, and youthful Ethan Nwaneri available for Saturday’s match against Leicester, as they look to close the gap over Arne Slot’s Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Despite their injury issue, Arsenal did not sign a forward during the winter transfer window, but it was not for a want of effort. Arteta said earlier this month that the Gunners attempted to sign a new player but were left ‘disappointed’.
Arsenal manager Arteta has made it obvious that he intends to bolster the roster, as the side is seven points behind Liverpool. Speaking to media, he stated: “We had a clear goal, which is obvious. There is an opportunity to investigate the possibility of improving our squad with players who can make an impact.
