Burnley v West Ham United Team News

Burnley and West Ham United will both be looking to get back to winning ways when they meet at Turf Moor on Saturday. Burnley suffered a disappointing 3-0 defeat against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane last time out, making it three losses in a row, and the Clarets have slipped to 14th place in the Premier League standings heading into this weekend’s fixture.
Sean Dyche’s men have won two of their last three matches at Turf Moor though, suggesting they may have a greater chance of getting back to winning ways on Saturday, and the hosts are set to welcome back New Zealand international Chris Wood, who penned a new deal until 2023 on Friday.
The 27-year-old striker has missed the last two games with a hamstring problem but he is set to return to face West Ham, a team he has a 100 percent scoring record against after netting in each of his four appearances against them.
Ashley Barnes, who signed a new contract until 2020 on Thursday, is set to partner Wood up front, while midfield pair Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Danny Drinkwater are on the comeback trail after suffering with hamstring and ankle injuries respectively.
West Ham’s form has dipped dramatically after a strong start to the campaign and they are without a win in six games in all competitions, which has seen the club drop to 13th position and heap the pressure on Chilean tactician Manuel Pellegrini.
The Hammers are without an away win from their last four attempts and they lost this fixture 2-0 last season, with Wood and Dwight McNeil securing all three points for the Clarets.
On the injury front, Pellegrini confirmed goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is still a month away from returning after undergoing hip surgery while midfielder Michail Antonio will be back after the international break.
Defender Winston Reid played for the club’s under-23s and continues to prepare for a complete game, while midfielder Jack Wilshere will be assessed on Friday ahead of a possible appearance.
