Burton playmaker Lucas Akins banned for Leicester clash

Burton will be without Lucas Akins for their Carabao Cup clash with Leicester on Tuesday.

The influential playmaker has picked up two bookings in the competition so far this season and must miss out against the Foxes as a result. Akins’ place in the starting line-up will be taken by Liam Boyce while Stephen Quinn is set to keep his place after returning from injury. Defender Richard Nartey faces a late fitness test on a tight hamstring he sustained in Saturday’s draw with Blackpool. Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers is set to ring the changes in the wake of his side’s historic 9-0 win at Southampton on Friday night. Kelechi Iheanacho could be handed a start although Rodgers may be tempted to stick with one or both of Jamie Vardy and Ayoze Perez up front. A number of fringe players are set to step up as Rodgers seeks to avoid a repeat of his side’s shock FA Cup loss to Newport last season. The likes of Wes Morgan, Demarai Gray, Marc Albrighton and Christian Fuchs are among those likely to feature.
