Buruj Sports Academy get royal endorsement

High-flying Lagos-based Buruj Sports Academy got the year off to a flying start with the royal endorsement of foremost high chief Asiwaju Oyekunle Alex-Duduyemi, the Aro/Asiwaju of the Source, Ile Ife in South Western Nigeria.
At a meeting in his Lagos office on Thursday, High Chief Duduyemi expressed satisfaction and appreciation of the good job the management of the Academy is doing and was particularly impressed with the giant strides taken particularly in the outgone year.
While pledging his unflinching support, Duduyemi also promised to facilitate an audience with the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi for the Academy to receive royal blessings from the palace.
Earlier, a management team of the Academy led by the CEO Dr Salawudeen Waheed had explained the aims and objectives of the Academy as well as the success and challenges faced by the Academy.
Waheed informed the royal father that Buruj Academy is a one-stop destination for young but talented footballers where they can hone their skills and realize their dreams of playing top-flight football either in the domestic league or even abroad.
Other members of the team on the visit included Hon Sesan Dada, Director of Communications; Wole Ajayi, Analyst; Tope Karounwi, Liaison officer and Captain Taiwo Azeez, a director of the Academy.
Buruj Sports Academy has been in the forefront of youth football development in Nigeria with regular participation in various international competitions to give the players maximum exposure to international football and global best practices.
As a result of this, the Academy travelled to the United Arab Emirates to participate in the Dubai International Super Cup last March and followed it up with another trip to the United Kingdom in July/August to attended and participate at both the English and Welsh International Super Cups, thus becoming the only Nigerian team to participate in those competitions in the same year.
Buruj Sports Academy are also the reigning champions of the Olodo Golden Cup after beating all comers to win the tournament last December.
