Carragher Aims Dig At Salah After Liverpool ‘Nonsense’

Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher has taken a swipe at Mohamed Salah after claiming the Egyptian is trying to ‘turn the fan base’ against the club by voicing his concerns regarding his contract negotiations.

The Englishman is reportedly shocked that the supporters would fall for such “nonsense.”

A rare interview with Salah was conducted in the mix zone following his game-winning brace against Southampton. The 32-year-old stated there that even though he wants to remain at Anfield, the club haven’t yet extended his contract past the current campaign.

According to Liverpool Echo, Carragher was also saddened, although it was more for Salah than for Liverpool’s current situation. He lashed out on Sky Sports, saying: “I am very disappointed with Mo Salah. That interview last night after the game and it comes out today..

“The most important thing for Liverpool this season, is not the future of Salah, not the future of Virgil van Dijk and it is not the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

“The most important thing is Liverpool winning the Premier League, that is more important than any of those players.”

Liverpool fans will be hoping the club’s hierarchy ties Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander Arnold to new long-term contracts before the expiration of their contracts.
