Manchester United players began fighting after just four minutes when Newcastle United began their match at Old Trafford on Monday evening. As Alexander Isak wheeled away from home, facing little resistance from close range, a mini-inquest was taking place in front of Andre Onana’s goal.
Red Devils midfielder Casemiro stood puzzled, yelling at his teammates, wondering who had let Newcastle’s in-form forward run free barely six yards out. The Brazilian’s rage was captured on tape as Harry Maguire stated that he was ‘following his runner’ as Lisandro Martinez, Manchester United’s stand-in captain, let Isak out of sight to score the game’s opening goal. Reported by chronicle.
15 minutes later, there was more finger pointing as Newcastle twisted the screw. Boos and groans erupted from the home stands as chaos broke out in the away section of Old Trafford.

Almost a carbon copy of the first goal, this time it was Anthony Gordon taking Lewis Hall’s place as the provider, while Joelinton was the scorer as the defence focused all their attention on making sure Isak wasn’t allowed a free run at scoring his second of the half.
Amorim had had enough after 33 minutes of the match. Joshua Zirkzee was pulled off to the sound of boos from his own fans, and Kobbie Mainoo was inserted to restore some balance to the middle of the pitch. The damage had been done after another blazing start by the black and white outfit.
This was an explosive Newcastle start against a squad so lacking of confidence that there is already talk of Ruben Amorim being fired less than two months in.
