Cech says former club Chelsea could crack under pressure in title race

Petr Cech reckons leaders Chelsea could crack up under the pressure of so many teams hunting down his old club.

Arsene Wenger’s men picked up their first away League win in four matches with a deserved victory in Wales.

Cech believes the points put Arsenal back on track to challenge for the title as he plots to chase down ex-employers Chelsea, who are eight points ahead of them.

And he knows what it takes to finish TOP after triumphing four times at Stamford Bridge.

Now the keeper determined to stop his old club and believes the best chance is if all the chasing pack keep picking up wins to pile on the pressure.

Cech said: “We need to win these games as you can’t let them have the advantage of making the gap bigger.

“If everyone gets points Chelsea feels the pressure from behind. This is probably the better scenario for those of us who are chasing.”

After Olivier Giroud’s first-half opener, the visitors went 2-0 up when Alex Iwobi’s shot looped in off Jack Cork.

Iwobi netted again when his shot deflected in off Kyle Naughton for an own goal. Alexis Sanchez made it 4-0 with his 14th League goal of the season.

Cech added: “This is what I like the most about our win – at 2-0 we didn’t stop and just defend our lead, we continued to play.”
