Arsenal talent Charlie Patino is reportedly set to leave the club on a permanent basis during this summer’s transfer window.
The 19-year-old has been a member of the Arsenal squad since joining them after leaving Luton Town in 2015, and he has long been considered one of the club’s most promising academy prospects.
Patino had a few appearances in the senior team last season before joining Blackpool for the 2022-23 season to obtain more first-team experience, and the midfielder has had a good season for the Seasiders.
Patino has three goals and four assists in 36 games for Blackpool in all competitions, but his efforts were insufficient to keep the Tangerines from being relegated to League One.
The England Under-20 international is set to return to Arsenal for pre-season, and the club recently activated a contract extension with him through the end of the 2024-25 season.
According to The Athletic, Patino will leave the North London club this summer in quest of regular first-team play elsewhere.
The Gunners are set to return to the Champions League for the first time since the 2016-17 campaign next season, with a star midfield signing being their first objective.

As a result, Arsenal cannot promise Patino the first-team assurances he seeks, and the North London club are willing to let him go to pursue his dreams elsewhere.
According to the report, “amicable” talks have taken place with both parties, and Patino has no interest in another loan exit, thus a permanent departure is likely in the coming months.
Patino is set to leave Arsenal after only two senior games under Mikel Arteta, scoring his debut in a 5-1 EFL Cup triumph over Sunderland in December 2021.
