Chelsea are preparing to announce the re-signing of David Luiz.
The Blues are believed to have agreed a fee in the region of £32million with Paris Saint-Germain for the Brazilian subject to a medical, which may take place after Wednesday’s 11pm deadline, reports Daily Mail.
Luiz, who left Stamford Bridge for the French capital in a £50m transfer two years ago, has agreed personal terms with Antonio Conte’s side.
The Brazilian has been unsettled in the French capital and had his heart set on a return to Stamford Bridge.
The deal means Luiz hold two of the three biggest transfer fees for a defender in history, along with Manchester City’s John Stones.
Luiz does not see Chelsea’s lack of European football as an issue, targeting a return to the Champions League next season.
Conte’s men turned to the possibility of Luiz after becoming frustrated with rejected bids for Kalidou Koulibaly and Alessandro Romagnoli.
They also enquired about Luiz’s PSG team-mate Marquinos.
Luiz is still a popular figure with Chelsea fans after playing through the pain barrier to help them win the Champions League in Munich in 2012, winning the FA Cup and lifting the Europa League while at Stamford Bridge.
The Brazilian has accumulated 55 caps for his country, scoring three goals.
